Spatiotemporal activity patterns in neuronal networks: detection and analysis
In this workshop, we aim to bring together experimentalists and modelers to exchange perspectives on the detection and characterization of neuronal activity patterns. Theoretical work points to the existence of traveling waves, spiral waves, localized bumps, and other patterns; to what extent are these experimentally relevant? On the other hand, are there activity patterns that experimentalists have observed that have not received insufficient theoretical attention to date?
