Instructive signals in the cerebellum during motor learning
Jennifer Raymond

Learning requires that changes occur at appropriate sites in the
relevant neural circuits. What are the neural events that trigger such
changes? Which neurons carry the instructive signals that control the
induction of plasticity in vivo? We are using a simple motor learning
task as an experimental system for exploring these questions in the
cerebellar circuitry. The answers are critical for understanding how
the synaptic plasticity mechanisms that have been described in vitro
operate in the functional context of the intact brain.
