• I build and apply probabilistic machine learning methods to extract insights from neural and behavioral recordings (e.g., Sparse Variational Gaussian Process Factor Analysis and State Space Models).
• I lead the development of real-time ML methods for intelligent experimental control (e.g., see the Bonsai.ML package).
• I develop signal processing and machine learning methods to enable a radically new type of naturalistic and long-duration experimentation (e.g., see the Aeon platform preprint).
• I obtain funding and lead my research projects (e.g., £800.000 from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council).
• I design courses and teach them (see my teaching page).
• I mentor students in research topics (e.g., as part of the Simons Foundation's SURF program I mentored Ms. Zimo Li (UCL, 2023-2024, coauthor in the Aeon platform paper).
• I contribute to team science at the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre and Gatsby Unit (e.g, as a member of the Research Culture Working Group).

I received my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Signal and Image Processing Instititute of the University of Southern California.
